  2. Prepare 300 gms khoya
  3. Make ready 2 tbsp suji
  4. Make ready 3 tbsp gratted coconut
  5. Prepare as needed Chopped dry fruits–almond, pita, kaju, kismis
  6. Prepare as needed Powder sugar
  7. Get as needed Ghee
  8. Prepare 1/2 tsp green cardamom and black pepper powder
  9. Get Sugar syrup
  10. Make ready as needed Sugar
  11. Prepare as needed Water
  12. Get as needed Kesar
  13. Make ready as needed Choti elachi/green cardamom
  14. Get For the chandrakala
  15. Make ready 3 cups madia/ all purpose flour
  16. Prepare as needed Ghee

These are little fried pastry parcels filled with khoya/mawa. The sweet is shaped like a crescent moon, therefore the name Chandrakala. Chandrakala is a Milk based Sweet. It's my hubby favourite sweet, he simply love this one.

Steps to make Chandrakala - A sweet:
  1. For for the stuffing. In pan put ghee then add the suji, fry it till little brown. Then add the dry fruits and coconut. Fry it and keep it aside. Now in the same pan put the mawa. Let it soften. Now in a bowl add the mawa, the suji and coconut. Let it cool. Then add the powder sugar, elachi powder and black pepper powder. Mix them all.
  2. Now take the madia add ghee to it atleast 3 tbsp then mix it fully. Now add cold water and make the dough. It should not be very soft. When the dough is done. Grease some ghee on it. And cover it with a wet cloth so that it doesn't become dry.
  3. Now make small dough. Roll it into round shape like puri. Put the stuffing. Put water on the side. Put another on top of it. Now fold the sides with soft hand so that the filling dose not comes out.
  4. Now in a pan put ghee and fry them. Then transfer it to the sugar syrup.

I wanted to try making this sweet for long time but never did, until one day finally I decide to make it. Suryakala and chandrakala are one of the fancy sweets we normally see in sweet stalls.
