The ingredients needed to make Aloo Dum:
  1. Prepare 250 grams Small patotos
  2. Make ready 2 onion
  3. Prepare 2 tomatoes
  4. Make ready 1 tsp Ginger garlic green chillies paste

  6. Prepare as per taste Salt red chilli powder
  7. Take 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  8. Get 1/2 tsp Dry coriander powder

  10. Take as required Kasuri methi
  11. Prepare 4-5 tablespoons oil
  12. Get 1 glass water
  13. Take as required Coriander leaves for decoration

Aloo Dum is an easy Indian food recipe prepared with baby potatoes that are simmered in a yogurt based sauce and spiced with garam masala. Goes well with rotis or rice. Dum Aloo or Aloo Dum, a rich and special dish in Kashmiri Cuisine and also in Punjabi Cuisine. The baby potatoes are first deep fried, then cooked slowly at low flame in a gravy with spices.

Instructions to make Aloo Dum:
  1. Firstly boiled potatoes and let cool down & remove the skin from potatoes. Heat oil in Kadhai & add potatoes and fry then in the same oil add lengthwise onion and saute until light pink.
  2. Let it cool down in mixer jar then add tomatoes and fry onion ginger garlic green chillies. Grind it into a fine paste. Heat oil in kadhai add gravy saute and in it put salt, red chilli, turmeric powder, coriander powder, kitchen king masala, kasuri, methi and mix well to a fine paste of peanuts. Add in gravy mix well add 1 glass water & fry potatoes and cover it for 10 min low flame. Garnish with coriander leaves on top.
