You can prepare it in two types. This is a famous and very common fish curry in Malabar area and more specifically Thalassery and Vatakara area. This is prepared using fresh coconut paste along with buttermilk or raw mangoes.   1. Heat a pan or earthen pot (manchatty) and add oil
  2. Splutter fenugreek seeds
  3. Add ginger & garlic slices and saute
  4. Add sliced small onion, slitted green chillies, curry leaves and saute till onion turns slight brown.
  5. Add turmeric and chilly powder mixed with a tsp of water.
  6. Add grinded gooseberry and saute well.
  7. Add salt, fish pieces and enough water to cook the fish.Cover and cook for 15 mins.
  8. Add coconut paste and allow to boil.
  9. Switch off the flame and drizzle some oil on the top.
