It is served as an accompaniment with rice. Season mustard seeds and red chillies in oil and add to the pachadi. This is another pachadi served on ona sadya. I was doubt full as to whether the sweetness of the pumpkin goes well with this dish.

Instructions to make Mathanga Pachadi/Pumpkin pachadi:
  1. Heat oil in a pan. Add chopped shallots, ginger and green chilly and saute well.
  2. Add pumpkin pieces to it and mix well.
  3. Add crushed mustard,coconut milk,salt and let it boil.
  4. Once it is cooked well, Remove from fire.
  5. Heat 1 tbsp. oil in  a pan.
  6. Splutter mustard seeds.
  7. Once it is done,Add dry red chilly, shallots, curry leaves and add it to the pumpkin mix.
  8. Let it cool. Once it is cool. Add curd to it and mix well. Pachadi is ready to serve with rice.

But it turned out real amazing. The green chilli cuts the sweetness from pumpkin by half, so the dish really tastes nice. Easy to make tasty as well.
