The ingredients needed to make Coconut Burfi:
  1. Prepare 2 medium size Bowl fresh grated Coconut
  2. Take 3/4 Cup fresh Malai( cream)
  3. Make ready 3/4 Cup Milk
  4. Make ready 3/4 Cup Sugar
  5. Make ready 2 tsp Ghee (homemade)
  6. Take 3 tsp almonds (grated)
  7. Prepare pinch keser(saffron) strands
  8. Take 1 tsp elachi (Cardamom)powder

Fresh grated coconut in cardamom flavoured sugar syrup. Coconut Burfi is made with coconut powder combined with a cardamom flavored sugar syrup. This is a scrumptious dessert or snack. Coconut burfi / thengai burfi is very easy to make and only with few ingredients.

Steps to make Coconut Burfi:
  1. In a big Pan/Kadai put grated Coconut, saute for few minutes,add Malai + Milk, stir till it's fully done and coconut becomes, keep aside for cooling
  2. Thn blend the coconut mixture and put it in the same Pan, put 2 tsp Ghee, again with spatula stir it,add Sugar, Elachi powder,go on stirring, lastly put Keser strands for flavour and for sweet texture.
  3. Now nic aroma comes and make soft dough, immediately put it the plate by greasing little Oil/Ghee and spread the Coconut Burfi,cut to square shape and keep it in fridge for 2 hours
  4. Lastly granish with grated almonds(optional) over and taste sweet

Easy step by step photos method, without sugar syrup consistency. I wonder why I have not attempted to make this. Coconut Burfi / Thengai Burfi is hubbys fav and my MIL is an expert in making this. To me she makes the best coconut burfis - perfect in texture and shape too. As diwali is nearing, I wanted to try this.
